Today was Eden's first ballet lesson, she's been excited about going all week and did brilliantly there today, I was so proud x

Off to the post office... (30/365)
... with exciting fluffy post for some cloth nappy lovers. This is the start of the de-stash. I've decided it's time to sell all the nappies we don't use (we've accumulated a lot over the last 3 years that we've been cloth nappying full time).

Tea time (22/365)
Love this photo of Eden today, for the past 2 days she's eaten her tea without complaint, or me nagging her and cleared the lot! Such progress for us! It has however, taken her 45 minutes each time, she just eats really sloooooowly.

Big sister (18/365)
I've taken so many snow pictures today, we've had lots of fun on our snow day, but this picture trumps them all - Eden looking so proud feeding her little brother. I'm still breastfeeding, so giving a bottle in the day is rare, I think that's why Eden thought it was so funny today!

And snow it begins (17/365)
Heavy snow is predicted overnight and tomorrow morning. I took this photo tonight, just a sprinkling at the moment...

My longest run ever!
So I think these 'longest run ever' posts will crop up fairly frequently as I up my mileage in training for the marathon. But I am proud of my achievement today - fitted in a run of 6.6 miles at lunchtime. That's 1/4 of the marathon distance-ish. I definitely could've run for longer too, so taking that as a good sign. Legs are achey now though! It's meant to snow in the next few days so good to be able to clock a long run before then.
'Mummy, does he want a cuddle from me?' (16/365)
Eden says this at least once a day. It's always the other way round of course (she wants a cuddle). They do adore each other...

Slippery training
Marathon training sadly was put on hold last week as I was fighting off a cold and feeling exhausted. Normally I have the motivation to go for a run if I've set my mind to it, but last week my lack of energy over ruled my motivation. This evening was my first run in a while, conditions weren't great - there had been a snow shower half an hour before I left the house, so the first half of the run involved trying not to slip through the slush underfoot. My pace slowed, and although cardiovascularly it felt fine, my legs were aching at the effort to not slip. This continued for the second half of the run, where it wasn't slush but ice I was dealing with as the temperature dropped. Still, all good fun, and keeps the training interesting!

Kids play on the allotment (13/365)
Very proud of Luke's hard work this weekend on the allotment. We now have the kids' sandpit in place, surrounded by wood chips. We have a few more plans to make this little area at the bottom of the plot child-friendly, but today it was nice for Eden and Asher to have a first play in the sandpit, albeit a brief play as it was bitterly cold!

First wellies (12/365)
Chuffed to have spotted these wellies today at a market stall - tiny little size 3s! I remember with Eden not being able to find any in the shops smaller than a size 4, so these ones on the market stall today caught my eye immediately, they were even selling pairs in a size 2 - so cute.

New Hat (10/365)
I've been wanting a monkey hat for Asher ever since the autumn when the weather started to get cold. Found this one in the sale today.

Standing (8/365)
I only took one picture today (and a fuzzy one at that!) Very unlike me to not be snapping away, but a reflection of how busy the day has been. This photo is a proudmummymoment one though, as Asher is doing so well with his standing and everyday he's letting go more, his balance improves and he manages a little bit longer before plonking down on his bottom.

10 months today (6/365)
Asher's 10 months old today. He marked the day by waving for the first time. Uncle Stephen was sat across the room waving at him and he waved back, so cute!

Taking it one run at a time.
When I look ahead and think of the training in front of me for the marathon it's extremely daunting and overwhelming, not just running for that amount of time, but the sacrifice on family time (particularly weekends) that's involved. I have to just take it one run at a time, and one week at a time. It seems more manageable this way, following my training plan and focussing on my next run, not looking ahead too much. Keep Calm And Plod On...

Winter play outside (4/365)
Realised we hadn't played in the garden for a long time! E and A both loved it, must do this again soon...

Bit of a slog
Mixed feelings on my run tonight. On the plus side, I ran for over an hour so I'm pleased I had the motivation to run that long on an evening run. Cardiovascularly it felt pretty good too. But my legs felt like lead. If I'd have known they'd still be a bit sore after my hard run the other day I wouldn't have gone. Actually, probably best I didn't know!
Snack time (2/365)
I've included this photo today as it marks the change of our weekly routine. Luke went back to work today, and next week Eden starts afternoons at preschool. As a result we have a new routine, pushing lunch and Asher's nap later. At our new 'snack time' this morning, E and A sat so nicely eating together, I guess it's a bit of an exciting novelty for them as a change to eating at the dining table.

Happy New Year!
2012 was full of some amazing memories - Asher being born, a fun jubilee camping weekend with family, and the unforgettable London 2012 Olympics, just some of my highlights and there have been lots! Feeling expectant and full of positivity for the year ahead, and wishing all my readers a very big 'Happy New Year!'
Project 365 'Downton' (1/365)
Today is the start of a new blog project for me, Project 365: A year in pictures. Last year I saw that lots of other bloggers were participating in documenting each day with a photo, Project 366. I love taking pictures so this should be easy for me, in theory. I'm looking forward to having a photo record of our year and seeing how much the kids grow and change.
So here is today's, taken from my new incredibly comfy, total impulse buy in the January sales, nursing (rocking) chair. The last few nights Luke and I have jumped on the Downton fan Bandwagon (better late than never). We've loved it so much we finished series one this evening. Now to find someone who has series two we can borrow.
